I think the difference between family and familism because is that , familism is a social patterning in which the family takes precedent over the individuals interest .If you dont care about family , than you care about yourself . And family is when people just live together and support one another and care and love each other and have a children . we were talking about it in class.In American society we can promote familism by recognizing marriage between man and woman , social support ,and physicaly . the confusion of care that we have about impact level in our society is that we see these days that family is shrinking , people get help from the government that is what provides us with care. The more help we get the more we want.We see family structure change and rise in single parenthood.In the article that we read by Gurwitt it talked about public policy to promote the familism by adoption , as in adopting children from poor families.
